Ectopic Liver in Oinphalocele


Abstract
Liver tissue is rarely found in the ectopic site and rarely require treatment.
When the liver tissue is found outside the peritoneal cavity, it often forms the part of the
contents of an omphalocele or diaphragmatic hernia.
We experienced a: case of omphalocele contained an ectopic liver tissue which was surgically removed. The ectopic liver was attached to the fundus of elongated gall bladder and it¢¥s pedicle was connected to the falciform ligament from which it received the blood supply. Omphalocele was repaired in one stage operation and the ectopic liver tissue was excised with the sac of omphalocele with uneventful postoperative course.
